Maja's Biography
On land, Maja manages projects, but beneath the surface is where she truly belongs. Born in Germany, holding Slovenian nationality, and living in Belgium, she has always been drawn to exploring new places, connecting with people, and discovering the world above and below water.
During an Open Water course in Thailand in 2019, her first breath underwater instantly felt like home, and from that moment, diving became Maja's element. Since then, Maja's journey has expanded from recreational diving to cave, trimix, and CCR diving. Guided by curiosity, careful training, and the support of incredible dive buddies, she strives to dive thoughtfully, always respecting and protecting the environments she explores. To Maja, diving is like a muscle: the more it is practiced with care and understanding, the stronger, more confident, and more skilled one becomes.
Maja dives weekly, exploring lakes, oceans, caves, and flooded mines-environments that captivate her with both beauty and challenge. Exploration, learning, and teamwork are at the heart of every dive, shaping Maja's skills and experiences.
Beyond the water, Maja is passionate about environmental conservation, animals, travel, and connecting with people, always guided by curiosity, respect, and a desire to learn from the world around her.
